چکیده
Abstract We present analytical formulae for the first and second derivatives of Helmholtz free energy non‐relativistic ideal Fermi gas. Important thermodynamic quantities such as heat capacity, sound velocity, capacity ratio, others are explicitly expressed through derivatives. demonstrate correct Boltzmann gas low‐temperature asymptotes derive corrections to functions these limiting cases. Numerical computations properties can be accurately performed using developed freely available Python module ifg .

متن کاملThermodynamic equivalence of certain ideal Bose and Fermi gases
It has been established recently that there is an interesting thermodynamic ‘‘equivalence’’ between noninteracting Bose and spinless Fermi gases in two dimensions, and between onedimensional Bose and Fermi systems with linear dispersion, both in the grand-canonical ensemble. These are known to be special cases of a larger class of equivalences of noninteracting systems having an energy-independ...
متن کاملMeasurement of universal thermodynamic functions for a unitary Fermi gas.
Thermodynamic properties of matter generally depend on the details of interactions between its constituent parts. However, in a unitary Fermi gas where the scattering length diverges, thermodynamics is determined through universal functions that depend only on the particle density and temperature. By using only the general form of the equation of state and the equation of force balance, we meas...
متن کاملQuantum thermodynamic fluctuations of a chaotic Fermi–gas model
We investigate the thermodynamics of a Fermi gas whose single–particle energy levels are given by the complex zeros of the Riemann zeta function. This is a model for a gas, and in particular for an atomic nucleus, with an underlying fully chaotic classical dynamics. The probability distributions of the quantum fluctuations of the grand potential and entropy of the gas are computed as a function...
متن کاملThe Thermodynamic Pressure of a Dilute Fermi Gas
We consider a gas of fermions with non-zero spin at temperature T and chemical potential μ. We show that if the range of the interparticle interaction is small compared to the mean particle distance, the thermodynamic pressure differs to leading order from the corresponding expression for non-interacting particles by a term proportional to the scattering length of the interparticle interaction....
